Teachers are responsible for nurturing and training workers for all professions. They should be highly respected and seen as experts. Teachers need a larger role in shaping the country’s future as we are being asked to shoulder many of the issues of society that have been intensified during the pandemic.”
Aidan’s Story
Teaching Discipline
Chemistry
Why Chemistry
“I always enjoyed chemistry in school. I always felt it had the most labs and activities and I wanted to be able to recreate those positive experiences with my students. Chemistry is also very relevant to so many things that happen in life and can explain so much.”
Professional Experience
During his undergraduate studies, Aidan participated in an NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) through the Rochester Institute of Technology in Biology Education Research. This work led to the publication of an article and two virtual conference presentations.
Aidan will begin his second year of teaching at Raytown South High School during the 2022– 2023 school year.
Hobbies
Aidan enjoys soccer and is an assistant coach for his high school’s boys’ soccer team. He also loves spending time with his black lab, Olive.
