Amelia’s Story
Teaching Disciplines
Mathematics and Physics
Why Mathematics/Physics
“Subjects in the STEM fields have always come easy to me, but I realized that wasn’t the case for everyone, so I like being able to help others. I want to be able to help all students reach their full potential.”
Professional Experience
During her undergraduate studies, Amelia spent time volunteering in Duazon, Liberia, at the Liberia Renaissance Education Complex, where she taught physics.
Amelia will begin her first year of teaching mathematics at Olney High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during the 2023–2024 school year. She hopes to implement a physics program at the school within a few years.
