Inquiry Modules

The Knowles Inquiry Modules are a self-paced, collaborative professional learning framework designed to help groups of teachers engage in practitioner inquiry to strengthen their teaching and instructional practices. Through five interconnected modules, participants move from formulating an inquiry question to considering and collecting relevant data, analyzing findings with peers, and sharing insights publicly. Each module combines asynchronous reflection with synchronous collaboration, guided by structured protocols that promote critical friendship, shared accountability, and adaptability.

Groups can follow the modules sequentially for a full inquiry cycle or customize their path by revisiting certain stages to align with their goals and timelines. The process emphasizes deep reflection on teaching and facilitation, data-informed decision-making, and collective meaning-making. By the end of the cycle, educators generate actionable insights, articulate next steps, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and shared professional knowledge.
