Resistance to Systemic Oppression by Students of Color in a Diversity Course for Preservice Teachers

The study explored resistance to acknowledging systemic oppression among preservice teachers of color and a biracial white student. It revealed resistance rooted in beliefs like rugged individualism, rejection of course content, and limited understandings of oppression. Preparing teachers to critically examine systemic barriers is crucial.
