Michael Miller

I’m a lifelong learner and have worked to foster children’s curiosity towards our world! I believe systemic issues in science are perpetuated within/through education and hope to disrupt those systems.

Michael’s Story

Teaching Discipline

Physics

Why Physics

Physics is both a passion and a space where students can develop a number of scientific skills using their intuitions about how things work. By utilizing these intuitions, students grow as scientists, answering many questions using foundational physics concepts.

Professional Experience

During their undergraduate program, Michael researched black hole mechanics and modeling. They spent two years student teaching physics across three different high schools. Since graduating with their Master’s, Michael has been teaching physics for the past two years.

Michael will start their third year teaching at Jefferson High School, Daly City, California in the 2024-2025 school year.

Hobbies

In their free time, Michael enjoys spending time with their partner and friends making art, playing board games, and watching anime. Michael also enjoys knitting.
